Horse Chestnut Extract
"For nutraceutical use, Alchem offers Horse Chestnut Extract with all its inherent benefits"

Horse Chestnut Extract is obtained from Aesculus hippocastanum, a large deciduous tree, commonly known as horse-chestnut or conker tree. The horse chestnut is native to the Balkan region of southeastern Europe and western Asia, but is now cultivated worldwide. It is a potent anti-inflammatory compound which reduces capillary fragility and helps prevent leakage of fluids into the surrounding tissues, which can cause swelling. Horse Chestnut Extract stimulates microcirculation by opposing water retention. It shows beneficial effects on venous insufficiency and associated conditions such as cellulitis.

The seed extract standardized to around 20 percent escin is used for its venotonic effect, vascular protection, anti-inflammatory, phlebotonic and free radical scavenging properties. It also exhibits astringentvasoconstrictor as well as circulation boosting properties. It acts as an antioxidant to help inhibit the enzymes collagenase and elastase which leads to healthier collagen and supportive skin matrix and also seems to have anti-inflammatory action. Since it is a venotonic and anti-edematous ingredient, it helps to remove excess extra-cellular water.

Horse Chestnut Extract is conventionally used in the symptomatic treatment of functional disorders of cutaneous capillary fragility such as ecchymoses, petechia, venous insufficiency (pain, heaviness, cramp, oedemas and itching) and in the symptomatology of haemorroidal crisis.

The product addresses broad spectrum physiological concerns and has the band width and capabilities to meet expectations. Regular use should exhibit demonstrable results to inhibit various health related issues.
