Digoxin
"For pharmaceutical use, Alchem offers Digoxin with all its inherent benefits"

Digoxin is a purified cardiac glycoside extracted from the foxglove plant, Digitalis lanata. It is used to improve the strength and efficiency of the heart, and to control the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat. It shows hemodynamic, neurohormonal and electrophysiological effects and acts as an anti-arrhythmia agent, cardiotonic agent as well as enzyme inhibitor.

Primary action of Digoxin is to reversibly inhibit the alpha subunit of sodium-potassium adenosine triphosphatase (ATPase). This inhibition promotes sodium-calcium exchange, which increases the intracellular calcium concentration that is available to the contractile proteins, resulting in an increase in the force of myocardial contraction. In the human myocardium, there is no evidence of up-regulation of the sodium pump during chronic digoxin therapy. The inhibition of the sodium pump may also improve baroreceptor sensitivity in HF and may explain some of the neurohormonal effects of digoxin. Digoxin also has important parasympathetic effects, particularly on the atrioventricular node.

Digoxin is used to treat heart conditions such as Heart failure, also called congestive heart failure (CHF), Atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular heartbeat, Atrial flutter & Abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). It is known to decrease hospitalization due to heart failure, reduce the need for emergency heart failure treatment & improve heart failure symptoms. Although Digoxin is not a cure for heart failure, it can help improve the symptoms and reduce complications of the condition.

The product addresses broad spectrum physiological concerns and has the band width and capabilities to meet expectations. Regular use should exhibit demonstrable results to inhibit various health related issues.
